Supermarkets are the New Raves

Grocery store music is a serious weakness of mine. It's hard to restrain myself from singing and dancing in the aisles at times. People frequently look at me like I'm a freak and I certainly don't blame them. I do pity them a little though; how often do you get a Peter Cetera/Richard Marx all-you-can-listen-to musical buffet? Not very often unless you're listening to my Ipod or this particular blog. I can't help it, I like lousy music, especially heavy on the synthesizer.

I want to tell people that they should allow themselves to have a Rick Astley song make their shopping experience a little richer. He's never gonna give you up. Sometimes you might get lucky and some BeeGees will start playing. This is a perfect opportunity to push your cart like you're strutting your stuff in flares down a busy New York street! A little Simple Minds can allow you to hustle through the produce section like you're trying to make it back to Saturday Detention. In the supermarket, you really don't have to take your clothes off to have a good time.

Maybe you are still reluctant to allow yourself to enjoy uncool Muzak, but you know that deep inside you want to. It can cheer you up, relax you, and make you feel not so old. It can turn an unpleasant weekly chore into a musical flashback of your youth! Don't you want your life to have a soundtrack too? You know you want to know the glory of love and have the time of your life, if only for the time between entering the store and checking out. It's time to discard the cheese stigma and go for it! Sing a little the next time an awesome song is playing at the store or maybe tap your foot a little while your comparing the sales. I dare you!

Or you can just hit the mute button before you come to this blog like my sister does!

I have to tell you; all I have to do is click on your blog, read your articles, listen to the music, and I am in a way better mood than when I started! My twin sister thinks you are hysterical! Just checking in to say "good morning" before I cruise over to SonyaAnn and Helene's blog! :)

Thanks! I am glad you like my music, I always worry that people will think it's horrible, but I like listening to it when I blog and I'm lazy to open up Itunes. Thanks for stopping by!

LOL! Too funny! I am always dancing to the muzak in stores. I never noticed people staring at me, but maybe it's because I don't care if they do. LOL!

Dance on, sister!
